On January 12, an earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale struck Haiti, obliterating towns and villages across the country and destroying almost 75% of the capital city, Port Au Prince.
As of late January 2010, 150,000 people are estimated to have died in Port Au Prince alone, with the total death toll for the country thought to be as high as 200,000. 1.5 million are homeless, and tens of thousands more are now reliant on food aid and medical supplies from aid organisations for their survival.
In the days immediately following the disaster, the international community began the largest humanitarian relief effort in living memory.
Cardiff can help.
"Rele Dife – Calling the Fire" is a very special cabaret night featuring acts from South Wales and beyond, coming together to raise funds for earthquake relief in a colourful, carnivalesque night of music and dance.

Rele!
In Haitian Kreyol, the word "rele" means "calling". "Map Rele " - I am calling – is a phrase often heard in traditional Haitian songs. It's a demand, a challenge and a prayer. It's at once insistent; a call to action that commands the listener's attention, and a heartfelt cry from those in need.
"Rele Dife – Calling the Fire" is calling out to you. Will you answer?
